  • Hi Monica... Thanks for contacting me. Welcome to the site fellow Ohioan :) I too just signed up yesterday. I have'nt had time yet to add my story. But here's a start...I've probably had PCOS my entire life. I was a chubby kid, though did not overeat. As a preteen my parents enrolled me in weight management and exercise classes, and I hit a growth spurt and got tall. So during my teens everything seemed somewhat ok. I was always a bit bigger than the other girls, was hairy and always felt different. I did not start experiencing symptoms until my early to mid 20's. In my freshman year of college I gained two times the normal "freshman fifteen", I gained 30 lbs in less than a year actually. At the time I graduated college I'd gained a total of 77lbs, even with dieting, exercising and loosing weight in between. With the weight gain I started having alot of problems with my menstral cycle. I was not officially diagnosed until around 1999-2000.
  • Hi Lori. It's nice to see someone from Ohio on this page. I just joined this group yesterday and added my blog yesterday too. How long have you had PCOS? I think I've had it for probably 23 years but didn't really find out what it was until 7 years ago.
